Achieving Success: 5 Simple Steps to Set and Crush Your Goals

Hey Mama!

Baby, when I tell y’all I am so happy the weekend is here, it is an understatement! Work this week has been chaotic, to say the least. For starters Monday felt like three workdays in one and by Wednesday it felt like two weeks. I am telling you when 3:00 hit yesterday I flew out the door and didn’t look back. I could’ve left my wallet and I would’ve seen that same wallet on Tuesday, yes, it is that serious (LOL). The idea of having to work five days a week is ghetto, but I'm grateful I have a job that I’m passionate about. Today Ollie has his third football game of the winter season and although it starts at 1:00 and is damn near the middle of my day I love watching him pursue something he loves. One thing about being a parent is you have the capacity to support your children's dreams while leading by example. I think you know where I am going with this. We preach to our children daily to follow their dreams and aspirations but in the same breath deny ourselves. In my last blog, I discussed the power of setting goals and the importance of prioritizing your needs. So, let’s take a moment and go over some simple steps to set and crush your goals!

Setting goals is an essential step toward personal and professional growth. Not only do they provide direction, focus, and motivation, but they also give us a sense of purpose. So how do you go about setting your goals? If you don’t know where to start, then this post is for you! I am not an expert, but I have a lot of trial and error, and understand the struggle of wanting to achieve success while navigating motherhood. If I had to break down the process of setting goals I would do it in five steps, think of these five steps as a jumpstart to crushing your goals.

Step 1: Identify what you want to achieve: What do you want to accomplish and why is it important to you? Be specific with your goals.

Step 2: Break down your goals into smaller milestones: Large goals can seem overwhelming, so it's helpful to break them down into smaller, more manageable steps that you can complete over time. This can help you stay motivated while seeing progress along the way.

Step 3: Create a plan: This step can take time but once you've identified your goals and milestones, create a plan for achieving them. This could be as simple as setting deadlines for each milestone.

Step 4: Track your progress: Regularly monitor your progress toward achieving your goals. This will help you see how far you've come and identify areas where you need to make adjustments.

Step 5: Celebrate your successes: Mama, I cannot stress this enough, no matter how small the success is remember to celebrate! This is not only a win for you but will help maintain motivation.

Remember goal setting is a process that requires commitment, discipline, and perseverance. Don't be afraid to adjust your goals but most importantly surround yourself with friends and family that inspire and support you! And lastly, take a moment to reflect on the progress you've made so far. It's common to get caught up in what you haven't accomplished and overlook all the steps you've taken to get to where you are. You got this mama and as always, I am rooting for you!

If this post was helpful make sure you check back in next week for tips on how to carve out time to achieve your goals.

With love,

Devon
